How to make your manicure last

A beautiful manicure should last as long as possible. A few habits keep the colour, the shine and your natural nails in good shape.

Well-kept hands with burgundy gel polish

Every day

Most damage comes from everyday tasks:

  • Wear gloves for cleaning and washing up.
  • Do not use your nails as tools, for example to open cans.
  • Dry your hands well after washing them.

Between appointments

A drop of cuticle oil in the evening keeps nails and skin supple. Hand cream protects your skin, especially in winter. If you notice a crack or chip, bring your appointment forward rather than peeling the polish yourself.

After two to three weeks

Once your nails have grown out, gel polish is properly removed or filled. Your natural nail stays strong and the next manicure lasts well again.

In
short.

Why does my gel polish chip after a few days?

Common reasons are lots of water, cleaning products without gloves or knocks to the nail tips. Mention it at your next appointment.

Can I remove gel polish myself?

Better not: peeling it off often lifts layers of the natural nail. Have it removed properly.
