Box braids are individual three-strand braids whose roots are sectioned into squares or rectangles. The extension is secured at the root with a small knot, so the braids look full and even from the start. They can be worn down, in a ponytail, a bun or half up.
For anyone who wants a low-maintenance style for several weeks and wants to protect their natural hair from cold, heat and daily styling. Box braids work on coily, curly and wavy hair; kids' and men's styles are available too.

Process & care
How it works
Before the appointment we agree on length (shoulder, bra-strap, waist…), thickness and colour. Hair is washed and detangled, sectioned and braided one by one. Depending on length and thickness this takes several hours — Cathy confirms the expected duration with your request.
To make it last
Wear a satin scarf or bonnet at night, oil your scalp lightly and regularly, and avoid pulling too hard. That way box braids usually last several weeks and your natural hair stays protected.
